The Regional Sales Manager – EMEA’s primary objective is to lead all Commercial Sales & Marketing in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. This role provides leadership to our internal sales and marketing force by supporting all sales and marketing related functions in the territory to ensure execution to all current and future customers. This position also works collaboratively with internal departments, including Product Management, Customer Service, Sales Operations and Global Marketing to regionalize global initiatives, and with Demand Planning and Operations to facilitate service delivery expectations on behalf of the sales team and our customers.

To grow the sales of Shearwater products in Europe, Middle east, and Africa, the Regional Sales Manager – EMEA works with Dealers and Distributors to enhance the brand through trade, event, and in-store presentation of the Shearwater brand by supporting all dealer accounts across the EMEA and working with the Sales and marketing teams on action plans to maintain dealer sales, relationships, and reports. It is also important to keep and enhance our identity as a purpose driven organization that strives to make a safer dive experience for our end users.

Job Grade: Career Band 3 (Operations Management) $90k - $130k

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Result #1 –EMEA Go To Market Sales Strategy

- Develop and Execute Go-To Market Plan for the EMEA regional markets to implement best practice sales and account management

- Attend GTM and product gate reviews to supply regional feedback to product teams for consideration and validation

- Work with Sales Operations to forecast new product launches

- Plan and price EMEA price lists for the various levels of dealer / customers / currencies

- Create Sales programs for the EMEA regional markets to drive overall sales

- Develop an on-going review of strategic brand objectives by region, creating new customer opportunities and markets.

- Strategically manage marketplace segmentation within the distribution channels throughout the territory working with Dealers and Distributors to achieve growth. 

 

Key Result #2 – EMEA Distributor / Account Management

- Directly manages the relationships with major regional distributors and key accounts, communicating with them on a regular basis regarding performance level and opportunities.

- Achieve sales targets and maintain margin results by distributor and account.

- Act as the company interface between customer service and the customer to resolve problems and build relationships in the dive community.

- Collaborate with regional distributors to drive forward targets and drive growth in the region.

- Create Key Sales Results and KPIs and drives them via our distributors and internal sales teams.

- Ensure sales and customer support process followed for accounts via Zendesk ticketing and CRM.

- Work with distributors on their customer support processes and RMA / service processes to ensure we deliver exceptional service to our customers.

- Collaborate with Global Military & Public Safety Business Development manager on EMEA MPS business opportunities, pipeline, and sales.

 

Key Result #3 – Regional Marketing

- Own the overall A&P spend for the EMEA region.

- Work with distributors on supporting their regional marketing plans that include consumer shows, advertising, trade events (incl distribution sales events), PR, ambassadors, and digital marketing.

- Provide input for pricing and promotional material for distributors in the region. - Provide localization support of global marketing campaigns including localized creation of global marketing collateral

- Attend and work at Trade and Consumer shows as required.

- Execute trade marketing plans with the support of sales operations and distribution partners.

- Recommend marketing tools and promotions that assist dealers in selling our products.

- In coordination with Product Managers and Marketing, develop and facilitate product training for distributors and dealer sales teams to drive sell through and brand equity

 

Key Result #4 – Sales Operations & Customer Service

- Work closely with Operations Team (S&OP) to ensure accurate forecasting (units and dollars) for EMEA is reviewed monthly.

- Communicates significant changes with Demand Planning on a regular basis and initiating appropriate action plans.

- Report on market trends, dealer/end-user feedback and competitive issues in the market.

- Collaborate with Customer Service to review key customer / product issues within the marketplace and help continuous improvement for servicing customers in EMEA.

 

Other Responsibilities

This position requires frequent international travel within EMEA on behalf of the company to support the above key result areas. Quarterly travel to the company HQ in Vancouver, Canada will also be required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

- University degree (preferably in Business, Marketing or related) or equivalent experience

- 10 years of progressive sales management or product management experience including GTM planning

- Specific industry knowledge or background in a similar industry selling a premium brand and/or technically differentiated product offering into the recreational consumer channel is strongly preferred

- Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset

- 3 years experience in a technical or engineered consumer product environment an asset

- Experience in the diving/marine industry is very desirable

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILTIIES

• Passionate about Diving, the Shearwater brand and its product, and a desire to deliver elite users the ultimate experience

• Experience in working with key stakeholders and aligning to organizational goals to support development of strategic business plans

• Proven “team first” approach to getting the job done

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with all organizational levels in a clear, honest and direct manner.

• Strong presentation skills with the ability to represent company in professional communities

• Willingness for extensive overnight travel (30%) and weekend work as required.

• Strong planning and organization to effectively manage multiple resources, priorities and projects

• Excellent trouble-shooting, problem solving skills.

• Must be able to adapt and work in a continuously changing environment.

• Must be able to work well under the pressure of deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project and Power Point

• Experience with Business Central or other digital sales reporting tools
